Maggie and Austen met in 2015 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they became fast friends and immediate enemies through many vicious rounds of the card game Uno.

Ten years later, they have a cat named Beatrice and a cozy (if chaotic) life together in New York City, where they enjoy eating late-night halal and admiring the local fauna—especially the pink pigeon that lives in their building’s courtyard.
